BJ Motors is honored to offer this 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 "Minotaur". This is a truly special truck, built custom by Prefix. This Baja-inspired Ram is an amazing top to bottom build. This is the custom exhibit vehicle that was on display at the Barrett-Jackson automotive event in Scottsdale, Arizona. Prefix Corporation built a very limited number of custom Minotaur truck conversions, and this represented the Extreme Minotaur, with its custom Tequila Lime paint and upgraded supercharged 6.4L HEMI V8.
Each Minotaur truck conversion from the performance division of Prefix Corporation in Michigan was engineered from a Baja Racing heritage, designed from the same DNA found in championship race trucks. The result provided owners with a truck that handles extremely well on the street and at highway speeds, yet impressively capable when taken off-road, with a full 14" of suspension travel. Prefix completed an engine swap, substituting the stock 5.7L with a Dodge 6.4L SRT engine with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger and A-Pillar gauges.
The KORE Tactical Series Suspension System:
This Baja racing inspired suspension system transforms any 4th Generation Ram 1500 into an off-road specialist capable of tackling any terrain. The KORE Tactical Series offers 14 inches of wheel travel front and rear and dramatically increases width of vehicle for greater stability at high speeds. Suspension provides unsurpassed road handling and comfort over unimproved surfaces.
The system provides up to 4 of lift and clearance for 35x12.5 off road tires. KORE Tactical Series Suspension Kit includes: Custom engineered front and rear 3.0 inch Fox Internal Bypass billet piggy back reservoir coil-over shocks, upper and lower A-Arms, high-angle tie rods, heavy duty shock mounts, CV axle extensions, sway bar end links, sway bar brackets, and coil springs.
This suspension system is unique to the off road industry because unlike other suspension kits that use poly bushings and uni-balls for their pivot points, the KORE Tactical Series uses OE style, rubber bushings and OE style ball joints. These maintenance-free parts are not affected by road chemicals, resist wear, are quiet, long lasting and provide NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) protection that is unmatched in a high-performance off road product.
Why the massive 3 FOX Shocks?
Racing has always been the cornerstone Foxs product development. The FOX patented Internal Bypass technology offers position sensitive damping that adapts to any terrain on and off the road, providing a plush, predictable ride everywhere you go. The 3.0 Factory Series Coil-over Internal Bypass shocks utilize all of the same components form our race winning Trophy Truck shocks with steel shock shafts, PTFE-lined spherical bearings, proprietary racing oil and high-temp Viton® seals. They allow for a plush predictable ride over normal off-road driving conditions and also have the ability to ramp up damping force for extreme use. These heavy-duty, steel-bodied shocks are loaded with anodized billet aluminum components and race-bred internal valving.
Wide Body Fenders / Front fascia:
Enhancing the Minotaurs aggressive appearance are the wide body fenders and low profile front fascia, designed and manufactured by Prefix. Extending the width of the body by 11 the fenders provide the vehicle with a striking overall stance that immediately separates it from a stock truck. The front fenders flow perfectly into the front fascia which feature integrated LED fog lamps.
All-Terrain Tires:
Aggressive looking, yet quiet on the highway, 35 General Grappler all-terrain tires are wrapped around 20 painted aluminum wheels with custom Minotaur center caps.
Skid Plate & Tow Hooks:
In the spirit of a true desert racing Pre-Runner truck, the Minotaur features an aluminum front skid plate and Tow Hooks that are painted Viper red.
Performance Exhaust System:
Enhancing performance and the aggressive sound of the 6.4L HEMI V8 even further, is a cat-back performance exhaust system routed just in front of the rear tires, for an impressive Viper Inspired side exhaust.
