More about the 1998 Callaway Challenger

Introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in 1997, the Callaway C12 was designed in conjunction with IVM Engineering in Munich, Germany, and was a marriage of a bullet-proof American chassis with German engineering. The end goal? To win the GT2 Class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And in 2001, the C12R took pole position in its class at the race!

The C12 was a car that not only pushed the limits of engineering but also had beautiful designs. Designers used computer science applications to help them complete this project in such short timeframes and they were able to extract all potential from it without sacrificing looks!

The Interior

The amazing interiors of these cars are truly one-of-a-kind. Each owner could customize it based on their liking, from all red to black and everything in between! The interior shown here features a largely dark color palette with white accents throughout; this is accentuated even further by carbon fiber upgrades like an instrument panel bezel made out of leather seats that have high-quality stitching as well as Callaway branded Konig sport seat covers which are electronically adjustable because they feature memory function settings so you don’t need to adjust yourself every time before getting into your car.

The Exterior

The C12 was available in both coupé and convertible forms. Our particular car is the Coupe, which has a beautiful design that is timeless. The long hood and rear deck give the car a look of power and aggression while still maintaining an air of elegance.

The yellow paint is a great contrast to the black carbon fiber accents and really makes this car pop. The wheels are 18-inch Callaway Speedline alloys that are in excellent condition and really finish off the look of the car.

Designed by famed Callaway designer, Paul Deutschman, who also did the Corvette AeroWagon and Chevrolet Indy Pace Cars, the C12 was a car that combined American muscle with German engineering. And it showed as the C12 took home the 24 Hours of Le Mans GT class pole position in 2001.

If you’re looking for a car that is rare, beautiful, and has a rich history, then look no further than the 1998 Callaway Challenger!

Biggest Differences between a regular corvette

  • The body was 5 inches wider than the standard Corvette.
  • The rear fenders were flared to accommodate the wider tires.
